The Rotary Club of Stafford is proud to support several scholarship funds honoring former Rotary members through the Citizens Scholarship Foundation of Stafford Springs. Each fund celebrates the legacy of a dedicated Rotarian, helping local students pursue their academic goals. These scholarships embody the Rotary’s commitment to education and community by easing the financial burden of higher education for Stafford’s youth. Donations to any of our scholarship funds directly support future leaders and uphold the memory and values of past Rotary members who devoted themselves to serving others. Stafford Rotary Club General Scholarship Fund
Opened on July 15, 1988 and signed by Joseph R. Introvigne, then president of the Stafford Rotary Club. The trust will receive any and all gifts from members of the club, as well as memorials given to the club to be added to the Trust. It is completely separate from the other trusts set up by the club and designated in memory of specific deceased members.
Dr. Joseph Amanti was a dedicated member and past president of the Stafford Rotary Club, actively contributing to his community in Stafford Springs. Alongside his Rotary service, he was chief of surgery at Johnson Memorial Hospital, where he played a key role in building the new hospital facility. His community involvement extended to local youth sports, a member at St. Edward Parish, and the executive committee of the Tolland County Medical Association.

Ronald Eugene "Turk" Ambrosi was a dedicated member of the Rotary Club of Stafford, where he served as a past president and was recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow for his contributions. He was known for his deep ties to the Stafford community, including nearly seven decades at Stafford Motor Speedway and ownership of Ronnie's Restaurant, a local favorite. His Rotary service reflected his lifelong commitment to the community and his passion for bringing people together.

 
Robert W. Campbell Sr. was president of Big Boy Hydraulics Inc. and R.W. Campbell & Associates, and was a Navy veteran and long-time manager at Stanley Tools. A dedicated Rotarian, he served as treasurer of the Stafford Rotary Club and was extremely active in the community as a member of the Italian Benefit Society and the Ellington Ridge Country Club. 
Edward "Bosco" Fowler was a dedicated community volunteer and a member of the Stafford Rotary Club, where he helped develop the Bruce Beaupre Memorial Road Race. His passion for giving back to the town he called home extended to numerous local activities, including his long-time role as Little League president and his work on Friday nights as the voice of Stafford High School football Through his efforts, Bosco made a lasting impact on Stafford's youth sports and community spirit.
Etalo "Pic" Gnutti was a dedicated community leader, actively involved in numerous civic affairs. A long-time member and past president of Stafford Rotary, Pic was also an attorney in Stafford until his retirement and served as a Judge of Probate for the Stafford-Union district. His commitment to Johnson Memorial Hospital was significant, where he held the role of past president and played a key part in securing the land for the current hospital through a land exchange with the State of Connecticut. 
Joseph A. Introvigne joined the Stafford Rotary Club in 1957, serving as its President twice and earning multiple honors, including the Paul Harris Award and the Outstanding Achievement Award. He was recognized as the club’s first Fifty-Year Member and became a Multiple Paul Harris Fellow. His long-standing dedication to Rotary reflected his deep commitment to service in the Stafford community.
Dr. Wendelin G. Luckner was a dedicated member of the Stafford Rotary Club, where he was deeply respected for his service and commitment to the community. A physician who also served on the staff of Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford, he was known for his compassionate care. Tragically, Dr. Luckner and his son passed away in a boating accident while fishing in northern New England many years ago. His legacy of service to both Rotary and the medical community continues to be remembered with great admiration.
Mario A. Posocco was a dedicated member of the Stafford Rotary Club, where he served as President and was honored as a Paul Harris Fellow. His commitment to community service extended beyond Rotary, as he was also involved with the Citizens' Scholarship Foundation of Stafford and served as a Trustee at Stafford Savings Bank. Mario's contributions to Rotary and other local organizations left a lasting impact on the Stafford community.
Robert B. Schwanda was a dedicated member of the Stafford Rotary Club, where he served as president and was honored as a Paul Harris Fellow. In addition to his contributions to Rotary, he was active in the community as a member of the Stafford Fire Dept. No. 1 and as a Boy Scout Leader for Troop No. 50 in Staffordville.
Anthony "Tony" Scussel dedicated over five decades to Rotary, exemplifying its values of service, fellowship, and leadership. He served as President during the 1985-1986 term and was a Paul Harris Fellow, demonstrating his commitment to the organization's mission. Tony managed the annual golf tournament for over twenty years and also spreading joy in the community through holiday traditions like distributing fruit for Christmas baskets and initiating birthday balloon bouquets at Evergreen.
William Sorenson was a charter member of the Stafford Rotary Club, which was founded in 1942. His dedication to Rotary reflected his deep commitment to community service. Bill was also active in various other civic roles, serving on the Board of Education for many years. In addition to his community involvement, he was the former president of the Warren Corporation, contributing significantly to both the business and educational sectors in Stafford. 
Earl Witt was a charter member of the Stafford Rotary Club and served as a past president, reflecting his strong dedication to community service. Earl devoted his entire career to the Stafford school system, where he made a lasting impact as a teacher, principal, and eventually superintendent. His 39 years of service to Stafford Public Schools were honored in 1985 when the former high school was named after him. Earl’s legacy in both education and Rotary continues to inspire the community he served so faithfully.
