Meeting was called to order after food orders were taken.  Members in attendance were:  Member Fran Moriarty, Member Jackie Richards, ,Secretary Kim Harper, Member Tony Scussel, Member Wendell Avery and President Ilene Whitmarsh.  We had one guest, Dave Richards husband of Jackie.....

 

Bill Burkey tested in the Evergreen Balloon Report.  There were 3 birthday balloons delivered.  

 

Next meeting on 3/16 we will be having Karen Boutin and 2 other members from the Stafford Housing Authority come and speak about their project for which they are soliciting donations. When the new elderly housing units are complete there will be 16 units out of 79 set aside for homeless veterans.  The project that they have undertaken is to have these units completely furnished and movein ready for the Veterans.   Discussion of members concluded that this has possibilities to qualify for th 2016-2017 matching grant program.  Once we have a better idea of what is needed, the Board of Directors will consider and present to the club if this is where we want to use for our application for the matching grant...  

 

Jackie Richards kindly agreed to be the 2nd party (as required) to listen to the districts webinar concerning  rules and regs for the matching grants on Thursday the 3rd at 7-8:30 pm.....   Thank you Jackie...!!!! Jackie and Dave also donated 2 metal Rotary signs which we will put to great use!

 

Bruce Posocco is handling the selection of 2 students from SHS to go to RYLA.   He is also ordering the 3 new Food Boxes that the SHS shop will be making.

President Ilene will be attending PETS from March 10-12 and will report back to club

 

Kim Harper noted that the DIstrict Conference is April 29th at Cape Cod.  We have 2 people who have interest in going.  Please call Kim or Ilene if you have any interest in attending!

 

Tony is working on a price for the Golf Tournament this year and will report back so we can get applications and sponsorship letters out.  Again, the Golf Tournament is June 6th at Cedar Knob in Somers .   Next meeting we will hand out remaining postcards for you to hand to anyone who plays golf and is not on our current mailing list..... We need to make this golf tournament the best fundraiser so far!!!!

 

Reminder:  Soup Kitchen is March 11th.
