Rotary Club of Stafford Raises over $1,000.00 at Stafford Speedway Fundraiser
The Rotary Club of Stafford proudly announces the success of its recent fundraising effort at the Cleetus McFarland New England 900 event, hosted at Stafford Motor Speedway. With thousands of fans filling the stands for the high-energy race weekend, Rotary volunteers set up shop at the Rotary Beer Tent, where they served drinks and shared the mission of Rotary: Service Above Self.
Thanks to the generosity of eventgoers and the hard work of dedicated volunteers, the Club raised $1,296.90 for the Rotary Club of Stafford CT Charitable Fund. This vital fund supports local organizations, community events, youth programs, scholarships, and provides emergency assistance to Stafford residents in need.
The success of this fundraiser would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of the Rotary volunteers who gave up their weekend to serve the community. Volunteers included Rotarians, Loren Brandenburg, Laura Lybarger, Brian Goepfrich, Karen O'Neil, John Turnberg, John Bitar from Hartford Federal Credit Union, and Rotary supporters Shawn Duffy, and Kandace Murdock. Over the course of two full days, they served canned beer with a smile, collected donations, and proudly represented Stafford and the Rotary mission to thousands of race fans.
Beyond raising money, the event also served as an opportunity to raise awareness. Volunteers helped spread the word about the positive work Rotary does locally in Stafford, regionally throughout Connecticut, and internationally through service projects and partnerships.
The Rotary Club of Stafford is grateful to the Arute family at Stafford Motor Speedway, Cleetus McFarland, and all the fans who showed their support throughout the weekend. This event not only showcased fast cars, a burnout competition, and community spirit, but it was also a powerful reminder that when people come together for a good cause, great things happen.
Service Above Self.
