The Stafford Rotary Club recently celebrated four outstanding students from West Stafford School and Stafford Elementary School at our spring Student of the Month ceremony, and proudly honored E.J. Neafsey with the Rotary Avenues of Service Award, presented by District Governor Vin Marinaro.

For many years, the Stafford Rotary Club has proudly honored our local students through our Student of the Month events. Three times a year, dedicated teachers and school staff nominate students who stand out for their character, kindness, effort, and leadership. We then host a dinner and celebration to recognize all they’ve accomplished—and this spring, we had quite a bit to celebrate!

At our most recent ceremony, we were thrilled to honor for the first time, four outstanding students from West Stafford School and Stafford Elementary School:

March: Briella Rosenberg, nominated by Amanda Mlyenic, Kindergarten Teacher at West Stafford School
April: Theodore Prentiss, nominated by Kimberly Robbins, Kindergarten Teacher at West Stafford School
May: Rory McCann, nominated by Amy Wyse, Paraeducator at Stafford Elementary School
June: Rinde Munn, nominated by Jennifer Miller, Fifth Grade Teacher at Stafford Elementary School

In addition to the teachers, students and their families, we welcomed special guests Dr. Laura Norbut, Interim Superintendent of Schools, Ms. Anna Calvanese, West Stafford School Principal, and Ms. Mary-Claire St. James , Stafford Elementary School Principal. These young students have already shown the kinds of qualities we value so highly in our community—kindness, perseverance, and a commitment to doing their best. It was a joy to celebrate with their families and the school staff who support them every day.

In addition to our student honorees, we were so happy to welcome special guests District Governor Vin Marinaro and his wife Sheila, who joined us to present Stafford Rotary’s own E.J. Neafsey with the prestigious Rotary Avenues of Service Award. E.J. has worked tirelessly to strengthen Rotary—both in Stafford and across the region—and serves as the District Governor Nominee for Rotary District 7890. We are incredibly proud of him and all he’s done to serve others.

It was truly a wonderful evening filled with gratitude and a shared commitment to community and service-exactly what Stafford Rotary is all about.
