Mindy Armelin, Student of the Month, April 2015
Mindy began her tenure at Stafford High School but struggled academically, which inhibited her from being promoted to the status of sophomore her second year. Attendance was also an issue. However, during the 2014-2015 school year, she has taken advantage of interventions at the high school, and improved her attendance record dramatically, resulting in a solid academic standing. She has demonstrated great maturity and has set a personal goal, which is to graduate with her original class next year.

Morgan Canestrari, Student of the Month, May 2015
Initially, Morgan struggled to adjust to high school in both the areas of academics and overall school life, in general. However, this sophomore is performing wonderfully in all of her classes and has taken an interest in technology/shop classes. One of her teachers notes, "Her grades are awesome, and her work ethic is terrific. She is constantly staying after school to seek extra help-even when she doesn't need it! She enjoys basketball and track and is always positive, polite and helpful. She is always willing to assist her peers when they are struggling.

Mikayla Fish, Rotary Scholarship Recipient
Mikayla, currently a senior in the Sustainable Architecture Program at Windham Technical High School, is an honors level student who has displayed her exemplary leadership through both student leadership opportunities and peer mentorships. She serves as Student Council Secretary and for two years has been an integral part in the planning and implementation of school activities. Mikayla is a firm, yet compassionate leader, who does what is best for all instead of what only "a few want". She is also a member of the Girls Varsity Softball team and serves as a senior mentor, making the adjustment to high school a bit easier for 10 freshmen. This desire to serve and help others has lead Mikayla to have the aspiration to join the Peace Corps at some point, where she eventually hopes to use her architectural skills to help people in countries of need
