1) April 19th – Paul Harris Awards Buffet – I need two volunteers to arrange for the buffet and create invitations for past presidents and Officials to be present – Jennifer Newman and Normand LeBlanc came to mind. We would like to make it a Rotary Event - $25. Per person – and guests are welcome! Please save the date – it should be a nice affair.
2) Timeline for Golf Tournament
a) Postcards are out
b) We need to firm up price of golfers, price of sponsorships and signs by mid-March
c) Get letters printed to go out to golfers and sponsors for business. Meeting on April 5th = April 5th is a business meeting and we will go thru the list of sponsors – including the list of tent signs that Fran developed and see if we have suggestions for potential sponsors to add to our mailing list… Rotarians will be asked to sign letters to business acquaintances and add a small note asking for support this year
e) May 3 – June 5 Organize members for purchase of prizes, registration table, raffles, sign placement at tournament –
As our largest fundraiser, I am asking that you keep it in mind. We will need sponsors, and raffle prizes that are usually donations from businesses…..If you know any golfers, please give them a save the date card…. Which I have here….
3) District Grant – I need any proposals for the district grant. Any proposal must fall within the following categories:
Peace and Conflict Resolution
Disease Prevention and Treatment
Water and Sanitation
Maternal and Child Health
Basic Education and Literacy
Economic and Community Development
Matching grant is not to exceed $3000. Our budget will be for them to match $1500 with a total project budget of $3000. I was hoping to target this years project to work in conjunction with the police department in a project targeting the war on drugs….. But we are open to any proposals. Keep in mind the winning proposal will be chaired by the person or persons that developed the idea. We need to make a decision at our April 5th meeting. I will be attending webinar and Pixie has said that she will also , as we need to do webinar to qualify to apply for the grant…
New Business
The West Stafford Fire Dept is having a pasta dinner fundraiser for St Judes Childrens hospital on Saturday, March 25 at 5pm. $8 in advance $10 at the door. I would like to send them a check as a donation and also encourage Rotarians to go…. Can I get a motion to send them a donation?
